Me Rongo is the Moriori word for "in peace". In it, the Moriori vision for peace and non-violence is articulated. Sitting at the heart of the document is the reaffirmation of the ancient and unbroken Moriori covenant of peace. The Declaration has many principles and clauses, one of which is commitment to supporting a law of Ecocide. Delegates from Rēkohu, New Zealand, the Pacific and USA met on Rēkohu (Chatham Islands) for a Congress for Peace, Sustainability and Respect for the Sacred was held in November 2011.
