Construction Skills Course

G&H Training’s Practical Construction Skills Course is for 16 & 17 year olds who need a more practical learning choice. It is specifically for young people who may be at risk of leaving school without the qualifications they need to succeed in the job market.

Practical Construction Skills includes the National Certificate in Building Construction and Allied Trades Skills and units in carpentry that count towards an apprenticeship. Learning is centred on practical activities in our fully equipped workshops. Students learn both construction theory and practica. They also learn useful work skills, literacy and numeracy for the workplace, and first aid.

This course has NO COURSE FEES and start dates throughout the year! On completion learners can move directly into employment or into apprenticeships with support of our Modern Apprenticeship Service.
