Scholarships

Rotary World Peace Scholarships

The Rotary Centres for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution offer scholarships to individuals committed to peace and co-operation. This opportunity is to pursue a two year Master's level degree in international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution at one of the seven Rotary Centres for International Studies established in five countries. Peace & Disarmament Education Trust Postgraduate Scholarships

The Peace & Disarmament Educatoin Trust (PADET) aims to advance eduation on and promotion of international peace, arms control and disarmament. Scholarships for NZ residents are designed to support Masters and Doctoral research. Up to $14,000 is available for Masters' studies and up to $21,000 per annum for Doctoral studies. Preference will be given to topics relevant to current New Zealand policy. Link to Department of Internal Affairs for full information and an application form.

New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women

The NZFGW awards Fellowships to women graduates for postgraduate study or research. The Fellowship is open to a graduate of a university or polytechnic in New Zealand or overseas to support study at Masterate or Doctoral level. Candidates must have resided in NZ for at least five years prior to the application. The value of the Fellowship will be determined by the Fellowship Trust Board in the range NZ$5,000 to NZ $15,000 or at the discretion of the Board. See NZFGW website for further details.

New Zealand Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

Churchill Fellowships are intended for travel, typically between three weeks and three months in duration, for intensive research. The Trust helps all kinds of New Zealanders - including community workers, engineers, business people, actors, teachers, nuns, artists - to travel overseas and bring back with them new insights and understanding that will enrich their community and, ultimately, New Zealand as a whole. The average grant is from $5000 to $7000. See the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust website for details.

AMP Scholarship Programme

Open to Anyone with a vision and the attitude to make it happen, the only criteria is that you must be either a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident. This year 12 AMP Scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded. Applications for the AMP Scholarship Programme open on 1 April 2008 and close at midnight on 30 June 2008.
